A Salute to Veterans of Operations Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom

Gates open at 10:00 AM, Airshow begins at 1 PM.

Canadian Forces Snowbirds

The Snowbirds are Canada's military aerobatic flight demonstration team whose purpose is to demonstrate the skill of the Canadian Forces.

scott francis

Scott Francis began flying aerobatics and competing in aerobatic competitions in 2003.  He rapidly moved up from Sportsman level, to Intermediate, Advanced, and finally the top level – Unlimited.  He’ll be flying his ultra-high performance MXS aircraft, one of only twelve in existence, at our airshow.  This all carbon fiber construction monoplane can reach a top speed of 310 miles an hour while still maintaining ultimate maneuverability.

A-10 Thunderbolt II

The US Air Force's Tactical Demonstration team will bring their "Warthog" A-10 Thunderbolt II to showcase the maneuverability and handling of this aircraft.

chefpitts airshows

The Chefpitts aircraft is a Pitts S1S, built by hand in a garage over the course of three years while Clemens, the pilot, was simultaneously working as a professional chef.  While the Pitts plane design has been around since 1945, and lends itself well to rolls in midair, the Cheffpitts is unique due to several modifications, including the paint scheme, which was designed and hand-painted by the pilot after the plane was built.  The performance will be reminiscent of airshows that Clemens was inspired by as a child.

U.S. Army Special Operations CommanD Black Daggers

Descending from the skies at 12,500 feet and traveling nearly 120 miles per hour during their two mile freefall, the Black Daggers are comprised of volunteers from throughout Army special operations.

Biplanes of Hendersonville

This Boeing Stearman biplane entered service in 1943 and was used as a primary trainer for cadets in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

In 2010, a full restoration was completed, including an upgrade from the stock 220 HP engine to a 450 HP engine. The current cruise speed is 110 MPH, and fifteen-minute, scenic rides over Anderson County will be available at the airshow!  Tickets will be available on site as well as in advance.
